# Add timestamps to logs in the browser console

Often, to resolve reported issues, we need to document the contents of the console from users, which is usually how we find the cause of the problem. For easier and quicker troubleshooting, it is useful to know the time when each event happened.

{% hint style="success" %}
*By default, the time information is not displayed, but it can easily be added.*
{% endhint %}

a) Use the F12 key to view the browser console.

b) In the window that appears, click on the gear icon.
