Activation Process

In order for your company to communicate with customers via WhatsApp using mluvii, you must first set up a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). The WABA account is linked to a specific telephone number and when you set it up, you can customize its name, logo or other information that will be displayed to customers next to your WhatsApp profile. Several other details need to be provided for WABA registration.

To activate the WABA account, you need:

  • Verified Facebook Business Manager (instructions can be found here),
  • Phone number for WhatsApp (according to defined conditions),
  • Activation form link (contact your sales representative or helpdesk@mluvii.com)

The following 6 steps will guide you through the entire process. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us any time via chat at mluvii.com or the e-mail helpdesk@mluvii.com.

1. Filling in the activation form

After receiving the activation form, you need to completely fill it in and agree to the terms of our business partner and the terms of Facebook. You will then receive an activation e-mail.

2. Access to the partner application

Once you receive the access details, you can check the status of your request. After logging in, the request status will be displayed as DRAFT. This request status is active until the phone number is registered.

The request status is displayed as PENDING if the entire activation process has been successful and only number registration is required. If the number is approved and works, the status changes to DONE.

3. Approve messaging on behalf of your business

For WhatsApp to work properly, you need to enable the “messaging on behalf of” feature in Facebook Business Manager. Unfortunately, without this permission, we are not able to link WhatsApp to mluvii.

  1. Click on the link in the e-mail or log in to Facebook Business Manager,
  2. In Facebook Business Manager, click Business settings,
  3. Click Requests,
  4. Under Received, find the business solution provider request and click Approve.

Detailed instructions can be found at https://www.facebook.com/business/help/524220081677109?id=2129163877102343.

4. Business verification

Once you approve the “messaging on behalf of” request, you will need to verify your business in Facebook Business Manager. WhatsApp uses this procedure to verify the true identity of the business.

  1. In Facebook Business Manager, click Business settings,
  2. Click Security Center,
  3. Under Verification, click Start Verification

Note: "Start Verification" is disabled until you approve the "messaging on behalf of" request of the business solution provider.

To create a WhatsApp client, you must meet the following 3 requirements:

  • Approve “messaging on behalf of” (Step 3)

  • Verify your business (Step 4)

  • Approve your company name

5. Phone number registration

Once the WhatsApp client has been created, which can be verified by checking whether the channel status has changed to REGISTRATION_READY, you can click the “Trigger registration” button to request the generation of a 6-digit code via a phone call or SMS. You can then enter this code by clicking the “Finish Registration”** button. You need to refresh the page to access the button.

Note: If your phone number has IVR, we can provide you with 2 phone numbers that will be used for verification so that you can whitelist or route these numbers correctly.

6. Generating API key

After successfully registering the number, you can generate an API key and then enter it to mluvii. After generating the key, “WhatsApp account” and “Phone number” should light up green, which means that everything is OK. Send the generated API key to us to helpdesk@mluvii.com.

Once you have set everything up, you can start attending to clients, who communicate with you via WhatsApp, right in mluvii! :-)

If you want to add new telephone number please follow these instructions.

Using Business WhatsApp Account

WhatsApp may routinely check on the use of WABA. Therefore, it should be ensured that the account is not used to spam clients or communicate with clients who have not consented to be contacted via WhatsApp. The customer must first consent to receive messages on WhatsApp via a third party channel such as SMS, e-mail or web form. You can find out more about how to properly set up opt-in flows here.

In the event of a violation of the WABA Terms of Use, the account may be blocked by WhatsApp.
