In this section, you can find basic information about the GDPR directive and an "" feature that you can use if you are asked to delete specific personal data.

On 25 May 2018, the European Directive on GDPR, thus the new EU data protection rules, entered into force. This requires explicit consent to obtain and store data about the client. That is why we have prepared a special entry form supplemented by the need to confirm your consent with the processing of client data and an accompanying text that describes what is GDPR.

However, you can also type your text according to your needs in the GDPR text field. Shorter, more detailed, or simply different.

Why we address it:

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the result of a four-year task of the European Union to unify and strengthen data protection for all EU citizens.

GDPR, according to its creators, aims to give more control over the use of data to individuals on the one hand and, on the other, gives companies a clear legal framework in which they can move. This makes this change desirable for both parties!

The new regulation came into force on 25 May 2018 and we are working on changes in our company’s products, procedures, and policies following the GDPR.

What does this mean for mluvii customers? If your company is based in the EU or your customers are EU citizens, several things could be important to you.

  1. Ascertain that your customer Agreement arrangements take into account the data you get through Mluvii. If you gather personal data from your customers and process them through our application, you should inform your customers of their GDPR rights. We recommend ensuring that your policies and internal documentation are up-to-date and clear for your clients.

  2. If you are in the EU or have determined that your GDPR affects you, you can sign a data processing agreement with us. To arrange this, write us an email at gdpr@mluvii.com and we will provide you with a draft agreement.

Our solution

Customers have the right to request the deletion of the data about them. However, for the traceability of these data, it is necessary to precisely define the key fields according to which the person should be identified. To do so, I have prepared a new entry form for the product, which defines four basic fields, which are mandatory. This is a name, an email, a phone number, and a check box for approval. Failure to complete all of these data will not result in the connection and transfer of data. The consent field is the link to the version of the consent text that needs to be filled in on this page.

To activate, proceed as follows:

Go to Settings > WebChat > The particular WebChat > Forms

and select GDPR from the Entry form menu. If subsequently, the relevant subject who has filled out the mandatory fields requests a deletion of their data from the system, it will always be necessary to identify him/her by the same data that was filled in the entry form.

The version of the consent text will always be traceable within the table.

Data Anonymization

For chat entry: For all packages used for the chat connection where the GDPR entry form is set, this form will be displayed and will not allow entry without first filling in all required fields.

A/V Entry (Showroom Form): A form will appear in the so-called large room, where mandatory fields will be required. Only when they are completed and the consent to the processing of their data has been granted does the connection become available.

The procedure for deleting client data:

Deleting data can be performed via mluvii REST API. There are 2 options:

  1. Anonymization of all client sessions using customer identification (Guest ID): /api/v1/Guest/{id}/anonymous

  2. Anonymizing individual sessions using session ID (Session ID): /api/v1/Sessions/{id}/anonymous

Both identifiers can be found in the session detail.
